Tacoma's architectural character." We use three strategies to
accomplish that mission: education, advocacy and preservation.

Advocacy and assistance organization for historic preservation in Washington State. Maintains the Most Endangered in Washington list.
National Trust for Historic Preservation
Primary national level advocacy and assistance organization for historic preservation.
Preservation Action is the only preservation oriented grassroots

National Park Service
Administers the Federal Government's cultural resources programs. Provides a large number of links to technical information, Park Service programs, and other items of interest.
National Register of Historic Places
Provides an overview of the National Register of Historic Places, listing procedure, criteria, and more.
Technical Preservation Services
Technical articles and resources useful for those rehabilitating or maintaining historic buildings. Includes recommended approaches to restoration, energy retrofitting, ADA accessibility, painting, masonry restoration, etc.
Advisory Council on Historic Preservation
Provides oversight of the National Register of Historic Places, Section 106, national information resource for historic preservation.
Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation
Maintains Washington Heritage Register, historic places inventory of Washington State, administers National Trust for Washington, coordinates the Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit program, archaeological data, CLG program.
National Trust Mainstreet Program
Program developed by the National Trust to create economic development and historic preservation strategies for historic business districts.
