Art at Work Month 2008

The goal of Art at Work month, taking place each November, is to illustrate the collective talent in our city and get people involved in the arts. The month is not just for artists...it is an opportunity for all community members to be an active part of Tacoma's cultural life. Tacoma is ripe with activity and offers a multitude of events. There really is something for everyone.  

Planning for Art at Work Month 2008 is under way. The Tacoma Arts Commission is seeking submissions for arts activities happening this November. We are looking for a variety of activities spanning all categories of art including but not limited to music, visual art, literary art, dance, theater, and film. October 29 - Opening Party at the Tacoma Art Museum.

November 8 & 9, 10 am - 4 pm - Studio Tours in Tacoma

November 15 & 16 - Arts Symposium at the University of Puget Sound

November 21, 6:30 - 9 pm - Art Slam at the Rialto Theater

Art at Work Month 2007

November 2007 marked the 6th anniversary of Art at Work Month in Tacoma. As part of the festivities, the Tacoma Arts Commission hosted its second annual Art at Work Opening Celebration at the Museum of Glass, a two-day tour of artists' studios, an Art Slam at the Rialto Theater, and a two-day Arts Symposium. Along with these events, a multitude of individuals, businesses, and organizations hosted hundreds of community organized arts events. And it all happened in 30 days!
